The film writer Roger Ebert wrote that Bruckner negotiates this difficult film with total conviction. Bruckner was nominated for the "Best female leading actress" by Independent Spirit Award. Born and raised in a household of three brothers and two sisters. Her routine was to learn Hungarian in order to improve her language proficiency. Bruckner was the Hollywood California native born to a Hungarian as well as a Russian father, who separated from their mother in the past, was a child of an German maternal grandparent. The couple were married in Hungary and moved to the U.S. in 1984 through the refugee camp located in Italy. She has two siblings and a younger brother.
